A French 19th Century Louis XV Ormolu Mounted Kingwood, Rosewood and Mahogany Bureau Plat. Circa 1860

The French oak frame and interior, are of Parisian works of the 19th century.  The rectangular top with inseted tooled leather surface within an ormolu moulded border applied leaf pattern corners, with three long and three false drawers to the frieze,  fitted with two side pull tooled leather writting surfaces.

Robust and impressive ormolu handles with foliate escutcheons to the drawers,  decorated on all sides with magnificent kingwood, rosewood and mahogany marquetry.
The sides all flanked by acanthus leaf, clasp bronze mounts, above the scrolling, tapering legs  terminating in ball and leaf mounted sabots,
