Anton Venoir Interiors, Appartement 26, The Concept and The Collection

30.07.2026

An elite antique dealership specializing in fine French antiques, decorative art objects, and French interior decoration. Sourcing, studying, and preserving rare,  museum-quality masterworks dating from the 17th to the 19th centuries, explicitly covering the styles of Louis XIV, Régence, Louis XV, and Louis XV Selling highly curated, authenticated, and often signed or stamped French 17th,18th and 19th -century pieces, including furniture, clocks, mirrors, tapestries, and textiles. Providing expert guidance for interior decorators, architects, and collectors looking to seamlessly blend  French classical grandeur into contemporary spaces.

A highly exclusive boutique showroom and event space called Appartement 26 (often referred to as the Petit Palais). Hidden behind an unassuming industrial door, it is styled entirely as an opulent, candlelit 18th-century Parisian salon.

Hosting high-end Parisian-themed experiences, including Bottomless Bubbles High Teas, private regional French food and wine tastings, and exclusive candlelit dinners.  Available for fashion shoots, artistic viewings, photographers, and highly intimate, unique boutique wedding gatherings

The most striking aspect of the showroom is its intentional mystery. Located right in the middle of Melbourne’s high-fashion Prahran district, guests are directed to a completely standard, industrial warehouse door marked simply with a plain number “26”.

Master collector Tony Venios has been explicitly building this collection with an uncompromising motto: “We are only interested in perfection”. Rather than an antique shop with cluttered items, every square inch of Apartment 26 is arranged to show how museum-quality pieces co-exist perfectly as equals in artistry

Pre-Revolutionary Treasures

What makes the collection historically significant is that it focuses on pieces from the peak of the French Ancien Régime (1643–1792). Because the French Revolution destroyed so much royal property—and because modern Paris constantly remodels—there are actually fewer authentic period interiors left in France than people realize. Many of the signed pieces inside Apartment 26 are of the exact caliber destined for major international museums

Melbourne Antiques Fair 2015 – Review – Melbourne

The delight of a “VIP” invitation is always welcome, and armed with mine, courtesy of a generous Melbourne-based dealer, I made my way with great anticipation, to the 2015 Melbourne Antiques Fair (7 to 10 May), held at the world heritage classified Royal Exhibition Buildings in the Carlton Gardens.
