A Pair of 18th Century Louis XV Provincial Fauteuils a La Reine. Circa 1730
The oak armchairs, each with ribbon-carved frames, padded cartouche-shaped back, with a centrally carved rococo shell and leafy spay motif, scrolling arms and shaped seat covered in gold silk velvet upholstery, over a molded serpentine seatrail centrally carved with rococo shell motif and leafy sprays, on cabriole legs headed by a carved rococo shell and pendant leaves. Provençial works of the 18th century, Southern France. Circa 1730.
