An 18th Century Louis XV Ormolu Mounted Stained Horn and Boulle Marquetry Bracket Clock, by Ferrier, Paris. Circa 1745

The opulent waisted case of VIOLIN form, with fine foliate brass inlay, embellishments with bronze ormolu, foliate C-scrolled mounts depicting noblemen in hunting pursuits. ‘foliate et chiens’ C-scrolled mounts to the sides and bracket, on scrolled foliate feet, enamel dial with enamel Roman hour chapters and Arabic five minute chapters, enamel circular centre signed FERRIER A’ PARIS, rectangular eight-day, 1/4 sticking movement with four back-pinned turned pillars, verge escapement, silk suspended Apollo mask pendulum, countwheel strike on bell above; door key, winding key.
