An 18th Century, French Louis XVI Period Salon Suite by Nicholas Lexcellent. Circa 1780

Nicolas Lexcellent. Maître. ( Master ) July 18, 1764.

Comprising of 6 fauteuils and a canapé. With channelled and ribbon-twist carved frames. The padded armrest, with Vitruvian scrolls to the shaped supports, with acanthus leaves, with reeded seat-rails, above tapering fluted legs, headed by square foliate paterae and terminating toupie feet, upholsterd in a rich silk wool foliate and floral tapestry. Stamped NICHOLAS LEXCELLENT. Circa 1780.

The canape: L: 180 cm; H: 90cm; D: 80cm.
The fauteuils: H: 85 cm; W: 62 cm.
