An 18th Centuty, Louis XV period, Walnut, Canape en Corbeille. Circa 1745

The C-scroll shaped floral and ribbon-carved frame, with padded cartouche-shaped back, with incised floral sprays and curved ends, continuing to down-curved acanthus scrolled arm terminals, upholstered with a loose cushion seating. All covered in a rose silk Damask fabric, above a floral spray-carved shaped apron, on cabriole legs headed by twin flowerheads and pendant leaves.
